Lives is a performance by Iranian choreographer Ali Moini and produced by Selon l’heure. For this show I was asked to create an interactive tracking system that extended the physical pieces of elastic that joined the performer (Ali Moini) to large curved metal plates that sat on the stage. The software became a way to join his movements to the text that was projected onto the metal plates. For this I used OpenNi and tracked his skeleton and used a variety of body movements amalgamated to highlight relationship between the performers body and the text as well as the metaphoric effects of the content of the text to his journey through life.
